Iain Gorry has been working in the Australian
exhibition industry for over 18 years in various roles including
designer, project manager, specifier, and design manager. He has
gained advanced skills in designing and detailing of exhibition
displays and floorplans, he has worked on the shop floor fabricating
displays, on-site installations, logistics, liaised with organisers
and venue operators, third party suppliers and exhibitors. He was
involved in the first application of CAD to the industry when hand
drawings were standard fare. He’s spoken at industry events on the
future of floorplan generation and the behind-the-scenes-look at the
Sydney International Motor Show.
Iain has a very extensive knowledge of major and minor venues around
Australia and designed floorplans for hundreds of exhibitions and
events. These include recurring vendor operated road shows with two or
three booths to large complex events such as Fine Food Australia with
over 600 exhibitors. He has won many stand design awards over the
years starting with a National Student Design Award in his final year
of his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Industrial Design.
Iain now runs igdesign that caters to the exhibition industry’s need
for event floorplans, general design & documentation.
He lives in Sydney, married with two children.
